They're almost certainly using 3DCG models for the ships, but that's not AI.

Weirdly comfy manga.

The art is a jarring mix of CGI, plot can be a bit odd (the fact that the MC is being tossed all over the place like a political hot potato before the princess grabs the potential lump of gold)
But yeah, it's not pretentious, chars aren't annoying. The hook is there to make me want to know what (silly things) happens next. MC is being handed divine providence on a gold platter, but this is a guilty comfort food.

Oh and there's the LN getting an official translation. It's also a comfy read for the same reasons as the manga minus the jarring art.
