Im pretty sure they probably have a kitchen back there because of all the luxury ship salvage and either way they had to have one installed once it became a point to have her highness on board.

Just like real life sometimes you just find old tech that didn't stick when it first came out for various reasons but in the future is looked over again after being rediscovered. The tornados were probably a result of a failed military contract either political in nature or Price wise. Plenty of things that look so good on paper or even practically have been turned down and shelved because of reasons like those even if practically they are practically the best option out of many when presented.

Yeah. This manga's art is all over the place. I wish the ship design is cleaner too. They used a 3D model and traced over it. It's too busy and gribbly, looking like the Zion ships in The Matrix movies.
