The ad for supporting hunlight scans for more booba manga feels a bit hollow when there were zero booba in this chapter...

Unless... If I had supported, would this chapter have been redrawn to have more booba?

Kinda weak chapter, presenting the other guy as if he was bad and smarter stomping on our mc. When our MC could just fuck off to another place and be like "oh okay I can't sell explosives here thats fine, time to strengthen the military of the neighbour country lets see what happens lol".

There's a reason of why noone fucks with a company that has a monopoly of something.

That was what I was thinking the whole time. If they tried to impose any restrictions, just stop selling to their military and only to enemies. For added flavor, you make the whole truth about the staff come to light to hurt the government. The MC had all the power in the negotiation and chose to be stupid and just fold.

Nikolai considered the option of assassinating Takeru earlier, but decided against because it would rile up the commoners and people who supported him as a hero. As soon as he walked out the door of that office without agreeing to hand over the staff, he would be under constant observation for any reason to eliminate him. If Takeru was to start moving his assets to another country, this would give them the excuse to label him as a traitor and kill him.

I can kind of understand him being dumb because he even mentions it, but he was not alone...

That's cool and all, but he has the resources to fight back and as you already said, he's a hero. As much as people like to think of these medieval times where commoners didn't have power Vs nobles, they actually had a fucklot if they decided to revolt - who the fuck feeds the nobles if not the commoners? who outnumbers the nobles? He's asking for trouble trying to kill a hero.

Our MC side had all the power here yet we had Mr Smartass over here overpower him mentally like it was nothing. Really weak writing, all we had was an excuse that our MC is a brainlet in politics as an excuse but what about his partner?

In my opinion, Nikolai focuses on maintaining order and stability within the country. Both he and Weaver know that the protagonist is backed by the church and aided by God. Assassinating a hero who represents God is a dick move that would lead to divine punishment and the hostility of the church, unless that hero committed treason or heresy. Therefore, their only option is to try to resolve the issue without resorting to force. As for Professor Lyle, she has a personal vendetta against Nikolai. The protagonist is trying to establish a base in the kingdom of Silegie, the people he cares about are there, so he can't move elsewhere unless he's willing to abandon them.

And let's not forget that both the nobility and the royal knights are against the protagonist, and Nikolai has spoken up in his defense, he is somewhat lean toward MC side. You guys should stop thinking that the protagonist has the right to act arbitrarily. He is not almighty or anything, he just a regular guy who trying his best in a different world.
