I agree, they art back in chapter 1 certainly seemed to suggest Lyle was a woman based on giving us fan service of him/her bathing with another woman.I'm almost tempted to peruse the raws and confirm they're both women, I was assuming they were this whole time.
Thanks for the TL.
They technically aren't women, but pretty sure that wouldn't stop the mc from adding them to the harem.I'm almost tempted to peruse the raws and confirm they're both women, I was assuming they were this whole time.

More importantly, Lyle was called 'madam' in chapter 1.they art back in chapter 1 certainly seemed to suggest Lyle was a woman based on giving us fan service of him/her bathing with another woman.
I think this was about a dozen chapters, and several months of in universe time, in whatever version of the novel I read years ago. From what I remember, it wasn't until long after they started selling actual bombs, and making guns, that people finally admitted that Lyle might not be a guy even.
Author actually complicated this further than that, on purpose. Just know that Lyle, his brothers, and their father all consider themselves male, there are reasons for the confusion, and even for the family to consider Lyle the failure of the family.RE: Lyle's gender, from this comment made back on chapter 1
I'd assume that Lyle is female, but is presenting as male for a currently unknown reason. There's a couple of other comments about it over there too, which makes me think that Lyle being refered to as 'madam' in chapter 1 was a mistake. I think japanese has non-gendered ways of refering to people, which I've seen lead to gender mix-ups or just bad translations in other works.
