And she knows he has a mental trauma about playing piano so she thinks forcing him to play the piano again is the solution?

She thinks reminding him of the joy they felt playing and dancing together will bring him back around. But she also thinks that won't happen until she's at the very top of her own game. Maybe she's right, maybe she's wrong, but finding out is the point of her arc.
