He'd probably have grown out of eventually anyway. Probably.

Still, while unconditional love is romantic garbage (it just sounds better than "love within reason"), if someone who goes through a phase, the only real reason to reject that person is if you that makes you not love the person. If you still do, even if you don't like that aspect, there's still room to respect the differences you have. And it might not be "just a phase", so it's still important to consider it. Either way, it's not easy.

The simple reason why Komi would always win from Kawai:
Komi accepts,Kawai rejects.

Komi accepts Tadano how he is,Kawai wanted him to change.
Komi accepted the help from her friends, Kawai rejected the help from her friends.

Tadano-kuns gift is amazing: he knew Kawai was pushing herself. Can you blame him wanting to be her hero when he was in love with her?

Honestly, I don't feel sorry for Kawai. Asking someone to change is never a good idea,no matter the relationship.

Yet,Komi and Tadano will probably help her with her friends. If I was Komi, I would just leave her alone lol.
