Komi will remain a case study of what not to do when you strike gold: it stalled when it got popular and got an anime, and the author got too lost in the sauce, thinking we loved his cringe and slapstick comedy (wrong). We love Komi and Tadano's romance!

The attempts at a harem were pointless. Manbagi was at least only because it was so sad for this nice girl that she had no chance and it was resolved pretty nicely, with an emphasis on female friendship... But then came Kawai for a repeat nobody asked.

I'll never forgive the Japanese for so many generational fumbles! Learn to write satisfying conclusions, resist the sirens of milking your golden goose, eat pastas with no sauce if you have to!!

They just graduated in the "official" final chapter (499), and I assume this is about a week after they started college.
Since Japanese high school graduation is around March, and college usually April, I assume 2-3 weeks between chapter 499-500.

She was totally stewing since they went to bed futon together. I'm not sure when that is, but I think before Christmas.
Sooooo it took at least that long for Komi-san to go for it... for realsies this time. 😏

people got sick of romcoms ending when the main couple finally confess/kiss/start dating. So now we have romcoms that pair them up, and keep going!

...and in almost every case, the author has no idea where to take the plot afterwards, or what to do with the characters, so the series kind of peters out and eventually ends in an unsatisfying way.

Maybe sometimes, the game should just end when the final buzzer sounds, instead of continuing into an extended overtime.

So what happened in the last 80 chapters or so? As I can see her being able to talk!

But for real man, I kinda drifted away from the series after they trashed all of the progress they made with their classmates by placing them in a new one. Add to that the unneeded love rival that I hope got to find someone who likes her. It was rough stretch of an already well played out series.

They should have just time skipped it to this end after she became friends with her first classmates imo. As there is just too many people that I guess not many got time to develop.

Put simply, Shogakukan started releasing official English translations within a few hours of the Japanese releases back around Golden Week of 2023, so we stopped translating the series. We translated this chapter because it seems that the official English release won't be until Volume 37 comes out in English next year sometime.

While I did feel parts of this series could have ended sooner it didn't greatly diminish it I feel this was an okay ending I would have liked to have seen maybe a flash forward or something but it's not too bad.
