Now we're really done, unfortunately. I wish we had gotten some babies but alas. It was still adorable seeing how these two work as a married couple.

It's always interesting to get an author's honest takes on their work and their decisions. In the end, when you have to decide between putting food on the table or not, you usually prioritize the food. A good reminder that, if you want any manga to succeed, you have to pay for it.

If you want to support the author directly, he does have a fanbox where he posts, among other things, illustrations of Sonoda wearing different outfits (all wholesome). It's 100 yen (less than a dollar) a month at the lowest tier, which unlocks articles for the past 6 months, or 500 yen to view all articles. He also talks there about the cancellation of this series more in depth and how he dealt with it.

After this series finished, the author joined a website called Days Neo, which is a service where authors can post oneshots/chapter drafts and get feedback from interested editors (editors who work for existing publications, not just randoms).

One of his chapter drafts was rather highly praised and received direct feedback from a weekly shounen champion editor, so it's possible he might have a serialization again there (or another champion outlet like champion cross). It's a story about an intimidating guy who's actually just really honest and sweet and also loves flowers, and his senpai and president of the gardening club, who doesn't know jack about gardening.

I'm still not sure if I'll translate the author's existing drafts because a) they really are drafts, no proper linework, inking, or screentones, and b) they are meant to get editor feedback so they can be updated later, so if they get serialized they'll be changed anyways. I'd just be posting unfinished stories, basically (they have no conclusion, as they're chapter 1/2 drafts). I think I'd rather wait for one of them to get serialized and then post the drafts just as a bonus, but let me know if you're really that interested in seeing those drafts translated.

For now, I'm gonna focus on real life a little bit and then get back to this author by translating the mikogami-senpai manga, as I know you've all been waiting for it. Join my discord if you wanna be notified of that.

See you around!

Bruh now that we have context from the authors perspective, was this series made with any passion outside of wanting to go viral? Lol
Just to clarify, when he says this series, he means specifically this post marriage story. He made it with the intention of helping his actual serialization, the prequel, gain more readers. But it didn't pan out, so he cancelled it because otherwise he's just working for free and getting nothing in return (only his existing fans appreciated it, no one new actually came from it). Of course we can argue whether that's a good attitude to have or not but in the end he's prioritizing putting food on the table.

Thanks for translating it. It was a cute sequel. Hoping to read another serialized manga from this author soon

Let's hope he will succeed. Sounds interesting

Thank you so much for translating all of this! It's really sad that this sequel didn't take off and that the prequel wasn't better received... I would have loved if they both could have run longer! Thanks again!

@Nosebleed thank you for your work! Are you taking requests for new series? You all were so high quality and fast with this one.

Brutal reminder how rough it is to make it in the industry. There's any number of isekai slop I would trade for an extension to this series. I really liked this work and thought it was a great improvement over his last series. Hope he keeps at it!
Agreed. Hell, I’d trade a lot of rom com slop for an extension to this series. But glad the author was able to give us this and wishing him success on his next work. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Thanks for the TL, and much like the author, I hope his next series last long, 'cause I do like what he's done so far

Thanks for translating this short sequel along with all of the main story!

Love seeing them together and their banter like in chapter 5. Really wish we could had seen more of them. But you get how the author is right if I only came to know of this "sequel/spin-off" while reading the translations of the original story after being picked up by nosebleed. And by then, the serialization was already finished with only 3 volumes. With Omoi-san, even if it went to comikey, at least I could show some support in an official way (but I really wish we could get english volume release instead of just being able to read the chapters on that platform). And I can see how much Yano Toshitaka improved for this new work but sadly, he didn't get the same luck to at least, keep going for a few more volumes.
Even with how amount you work for it, going viral still depends a lot on luck, finding the right publisher, demographic and right time to release.

May Senpai bless his next work and someday, when he's making loads of money and have more free time, he can bless his fans with more tales of Sonoda, Omoi and his other characters.
