Sweat and Soap is sort of similar, at least the male lead. The female lead is super insecure and gets flustered easily, and her growth is glacially slow. The initial chapters are peak, but it loses a lot of steam as it goes on. Should have been a 30 to 40 chapters series, 97 were way too many.
This.
I get that the demographic for these wants squishy warm and fuzzies as long as possible. Hell, I'm one step in this crowd.
But after a while, you end up with one or both characters going from "growing" to regressing into caricatures in a way that I can only liken to Homer or Peter Griffin. It's why the "dense MC" trope is a thing.
Now don't get me wrong, this one wasn't too bad in the "time wasted" department compared to, say, the neverending, blue-balling patreon teases or the "Go buy the LN to see what happens!" adaptations nowadays lol
Edit: punctuation is important kids. Man, it's like I can't write at all lately haha
