A fun twist on the gyaruXotaku genre. She's a pleasant gyaru. He's a traumatized/raised for murder otaku. He can't help but interpret her interest as a threat. People with low self-esteem often mistrust kindness as duplicity. This just takes the mistrust to an unreasonable level, murder.

We get a rom-com with imagined stakes: If I drop the walls of my heart enough, will I fall in love? Will I Die? School is melodramatic like that.

So far I dig it. It's funny how usually they make the classmates seem awful for ostracising the MC but this time I'm kind of on their side. If some dude was reading up on torture and having a creepy little laugh about it I'd think he was gross too. Though my parents weren't killed so...

Also, she's definitely an assassin, she didn't even blink an eye when he mentioned he doesn't kill women or children.

Him being overly cautious to ascertain her intentions on the off chance that she or those around them might be out to kill him, only for it to end up looking to her like he's being a complete gentlemen, is a fun plot device. Let's see where the author can take it; enjoying it so far.
