Based on chapter 3, that's exactly what's happening, especially since there's a huge disconnect between the plot synopsis and where the plot currently is.
Sure i wanted a manga about a hero that kicks useful op character from a party, but i kinda wished for a redemption of a scumbag type of story, this one kicked because he wanted to help, so he's still not that unusual for a MC
