Alternatively, it means "here's the current status quo, but don't get comfortable, because we're going to destroy that and lead into the actual story." Based on chapter 3, that's exactly what's happening, especially since there's a huge disconnect between the plot synopsis and where the plot currently is.

Sure i wanted a manga about a hero that kicks useful op character from a party, but i kinda wished for a redemption of a scumbag type of story, this one kicked because he wanted to help, so he's still not that unusual for a MC
