Analytically thinking, it's not like Akira could afford to do anything truly outrageous. She's bound by the clan's prestige. If news spread that she volunteered to act as a koto club instructor but was terrible at it, it would affect the Houtsuki koto clan's reputation. If a good part of the Houtsuki income is from koto students, having a reputation of not being able to teach would be quite a disaster. Although the Doujimas are some kind of branch family, they still depend on the Houtsuki main house's name and connections. They aren't clearly planning to destroy the Houtsuki house but to take control of it. The better the Houtsuki's reputation, the more value the Doujima granny would capture.
