You know, I found it heartwarming when I was reading the part where Hohst makes that promise to Komekko in the LN, but the manga really captured that same sugary atmosphere .

I wonder if the newer LN volumes has Hohst getting summed by Komekko again, seeing as Wolbach got 'defeated'. Should go and read up on the new releases soon.
