It's really sad to hear that she's given up on trying to get better or even trying to curb binging/vomiting. I wonder what made her come to that kind of conclusion. Binging/vomiting like that regularly can't be sustainable; she'll see damages to her health eventually, like with her alcohol abuse/pancreatitis.
Mental illnesses are really hard to completely "cure" or get rid of from an individual. Most people can only manage their illness with medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, etc; they can lead somewhat normal, healthy & functional lives with the help of those but it'll never be the same. I wonder if the thought that she could struggling with binging urges regularly be smth that made her give up on the thought of recovery
