@libbies

100% that. I don't even really understand why she splashed him with water after reading it, going back 3 chapters to read about the honey again, and then reading this chapter a second time.

I have no idea what the hell is going on. But while this dude was rude, I don't think he was getting a bucket of water splashed on him or getting smacked by a table rude. Eh just my two cents.

WTB plot, I mean seriously I have no clue whats going on. It is better than last chapter but still crap. Did they outsource the manga to china?

And as always, being a noble is completely useless in the hands of the MC and thier group. Even commoners look down on them. If it was the other way around...

Yeah the quality in story and art has been steadily declining. Doesn't look like the plot is going anywhere soon.

I can’t remember what is going on but even if you are the victim a little bit trying to punch a little girl in the face isn’t going to help your case, it is a good way to end up in a ditch

I had to go back and read it a few times. What I got was, Echo was lying. Dude was just drinking and made a few snide remarks, then Echo assaulted him. She played the victim, lied, and then manipulated her way into getting the man arrested. She's an opportunistic little brat who lashed out and made herself the victim. I've seen it quite a bit in real life and realized what's going on.

If this gets swept under the rug, I'm dropping this manga. But if Echo's behavior escalates then this was actually a very well planned chapter. Not all children are angels, and it can be more difficult for the people closest to them not to see it.

@Kyto1984 Echo never lied, she stated what happened(the guy shamed her in her own establishment and she threw water in his face) after the guy tried to punch her. In that world, is throwing water on someone considered assault? For a long while in the real world, women threw water in mens faces all the time, even became a trope in entertainment, but did they ever get arrested for assault?(sure maybe nowadays we'd be lucky to get a cop who would book em but women still have a edge up currently.) So i disagree that she's an "opportunistic little brat" and was just rightfully defending her and her family's honor.

TLDR; Drop the manga for such a pathetic sjw reason if you want, we'l continue to enjoy it just fine without you. :)

Edit: I'l just leave this here too. https://youtu.be/NFHa6yDgEpU

Re-read to piece it all together... just put her in primary school, another town's school, or ask the church (she could learn healing magic or something).

I had to read this a couple of times. Trying to punch somebody in the face for that isn't justified, but she also didn't have cause to throw a bucket of water on someone for making one slightly obnoxious remark. Then everybody claims it was an accident, since she "isn't the type of person to do something like that" confirming it isn't okay, until the girl herself admits it was on purpose and then they just carry on.

TLDR; he proved himself to be worse at the end, but she was wrong at the start.

@Goretantath Yes she lied. Echo said the man called her aunt an "idiot." He never did, he never called anyone an "idiot." All he said that "You can't speak, but you can understand me. No, I wonder if you thought that'd be a good way to get more tips." In other words, HE DOESN'T THINK SHE'S MUTE. The man keeps prodding Echo to speak, and each time she just keeps shooting him nastier and nastier looks. Eventually he snaps and throws a punch, and Fil stops him.

Thinking she's an aristocrat, he chides Fil for taking Echo's side FOR THE SOLE REASON SHE'S NOT TALKING. "This child isn't the type to just do that. You're blaming her for just falling down!" Echo didn't "fall down" she intentionally filled a bucket with water and dumped him with it (and that fit's the modern legal definition of assault/battery; just try arguing to a judge "but they do it in movies!") "Anyone can feel sympathy for someone who can't speak. Blessed aristocrats would unconditionally be kind to a troublemaking kid. Are you satisfied protecting the poor kid?" He's calling out FIl's actions as self-gratifying BS, not even bothering to understand the full situation simply because the lie makes her feel good.

After being called out for being drunk and attempting to strike a child, he half apologizes "It's true it's no excuse, but that doesn't matter." This next part I think is a mistranslation, "It's hard not being able to talk. You can't defend yourself." I think the point he was trying to make is that it's difficult to understand what Echo is thinking because she'll never have to explain herself. Then Echo starts talking and says he called her aunt an idiot. We then get a flashback where THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN. "You called my favorite people stupid. I can't forgive you!" He started to explain how he never said anything like that, when Fil threatens him with a table.

Then the man gets dog-piled when the Dean of Student take's Echo's side. There's no indication of when she arrived, so we don't know if she saw the whole incident and knows Echo is lying. "Take some time to cool your head, if you don't you'll get sick." I think this is another mistranslation, because I have no idea what it means. I think the Dean is making a veiled threat, but I'm not certain. Seeing how her bodyguards are treating the man, I doubt it's an act of altruism.

So in short; Echo lied and bent others to the benefit of herself. Not a single person saw the whole event or even attempted to find the truth, expect the man who was splashed. Echo orchestrated the entire event simply for sympathy, possibly condemning a man because "Blessed aristocrats would unconditionally be kind to a troublemaking kid."

And not trusting a brat is not an SJW reason. Children lie, and if you don't believe that than you're an idiot.
