I don't understand this "spirit's light" is it okay for the lord to be a scumbag to others if he is good to his citizens?

@jokerxhisoka Been wondering the same thing, apparently the spirit kill the lord if he's a racist, but somehow not if he's in charge of an alliance meaning to destroy the world (and a racist too... hello Feuillet)

This really is the most on the nose anti racism thing I have ever seen. And it doesn't even make sense cause mummies are just dudes wrapped up in bandages for no reason. They aren't even undead.

It is an issue that the mummies lack distinction from humans. They have no different skin coloration or obvious differences, unlike the skeletons, vampires or even elves. Once you take the bandages off, they look completely human. Not even a different skin tone.

Though I guess you can infer some things, I'm not sure if those are intentional or I'm just reading too much into it.
I would guess their difference is that they have low intelligence, as none of the mummies have taken up positions of leadership or skill, there's explicit mention that no mummy becomes a guard or has a horse, instead doing manual labor and wearing only bandages. Though I would guess a benefit is their hardiness, that they will survive basically everywhere and they keep being tasked with manual labor.
But again, is this intentional, or just me reading too much into it?
