It feels like the obvious conclusion to this arc is the three of them in a relationship (and perhaps eventually the lesbian office girl will be included as well, just for the ladies of course -- perhaps the sister too), but it seems like just an obvious direction I'm expecting it to be a misdirect and for things to go a very different way than I am expecting.

I don't quite agree. My interpretation is that they always worked platonically and Sexually, but not romantically. Then again, perhaps it merits a re read

They tend to characterize romance in a very stuffy way, fwiw. They do work platonically and sexually, but, unless I'm missing something (I probably have, I've never done a read where I paid much attention, and some chapters are very dialogue heavy) they only ever talk of romance as being suffocating or accidentally suffocating themselves with expectations from romance when they re explain what a friend with benefits is for the 32nd time

So the FWB sort of set up works pretty well with them, but there's no reason why their compatibility, (nor the blonde bosses) can't be romantic if their minds didn't think of romance in that way. There's plenty that's romantic already going on, imo.

This is not a work that wants to explore that and other extensions of non-monogamy that deeply, which is fine, the artist wants to draw his OCs of many years having sex some more.

People need to understand that entire premise is a fantasy like all hentai based serializations tend to be. This many people who have this levels of compartmentalizing skills gathering around a single guy to form a harem is just that, a fantasy no matter how much the story tries to pretend otherwise spouting all this pseudo intellectual relationship insight every 5 chapters trying to convince itself and the reader like a commenter said above.

The moment they sleep with other people as well without a care in the world like actual FWB favored people tend to do, it can convince me about the massage it is trying to preach. At least hentai version had this with the sister being married and also fucking her stepson along with FMC. It was fucked up but at least it was more honest instead of this severely exclusive harem.

Eh still not a huge fan of her. And definitely I wouldn't like to see Tomoka sleep with others. Of course the whole premise of the series is that the protagonists are sex friends and not a couple so I have to be ready for this to not have the ending I wish.

I haven't caught up in forever but has the fmc actually slept with a guy besides mc? Ik it's the whole premise but it's only been the mc and other women or other women with fmc or some combination. Obviously she did before manga start but I forget how many.

To my knowledge so far excluding their respective exes Tomoka and Murata only slept with each other.
