Imashita was probably being super careful not to as she was partying with her coworkers who are also Murata's coworkers. Tomoka just doesn't talk about him like that cause he isn't central to her life the way a lover would be. I don't talk about my friends without them present much at all amd even if I did mention I had a buddy who was related to a convo I probably wouldn't name them unless we shared them as a mutual.

Like, I get that this relationship (and this series) is all about being “open”, but those statements go beyond a lack of jealousy and starts to sound more like a lack of affection for him in general.

They’re so great together that it’s a bit tough when they make it sound like they’re both easily replaceable

I don't necessarily agree. They don't have an emotional romantic relationship. It is just a sexual/erotic one where they are friends who also have sex. She isn't saying she doesn't care about him but doesn't feel anything romantic with him.

In this case, she's able to separate the sexual and romantic attraction. She states outright that they have fantastic sexual chemistry.

It feels like the obvious conclusion to this arc is the three of them in a relationship (and perhaps eventually the lesbian office girl will be included as well, just for the ladies of course -- perhaps the sister too), but it seems like just an obvious direction I'm expecting it to be a misdirect and for things to go a very different way than I am expecting.

I’m hoping for at least a hint of that, or maybe she’s exaggerating in order to try and be more convincing. Hopefully that won’t create more problems down the line.

Who knows, maybe the group will just turn into a polycule where couplings and groupings of any combination are encouraged, but sex with outsiders is not permitted.

Tomo talked a big game but having many partners, especially if those partners are also promiscuous, is just asking for everyone to get STIs.
