Japchae is the shit, I could eat the whole container if I'm not careful. Haven't found them in croquettes, but got what I thought would be pork or red bean steam buns and surprise they stick those noodles in there too, lol.

I've had some time to think about this and I think what's throwing me is how much time they spend together that isn't sex. That's a whole relationship.

I think it's tricky to create terms and categories for human relationships, because romantic ships come in a variety of shapes and sizes, friendships have variety, FWB have variety, etc. There's a ton of unique situations which muddle the terms used.

The inciting event for these two was when they complained about feeling cramped by their recent exes. They felt confined by the terms imposed by those partners, and they wanted someone more laid back and chill. Defining their relationship as FWB helps them keep the chill, but it's not like they aren't conscious of each other or thinking of each other. They have genuine care. That to me is closer to "finding a partner you click with" than it is "we're not romantic partners, we're just best friends who bang."

might've been a diff kinda noodles but can't go wrong with korean food. tho the red bean stuff i've had like donuts is more dessert leaning than savory but a taiwanese 'wheelcake' with red bean would be a nice side instead of a like a biscuit with the noodle dish, i think i've had dumplings/mandu with a bit of them in, just depends on what you get

I'll ask since this has me curious. What makes you consider yourself "aromantic"?

The way I understand it, romantic feelings aren't all that distinct from other similar emotions. If you're missing them entirely, you must be missing a part or whole of other feelings such as platonic love, deep fulfilment, sexual pleasure, etc. I've had a few younger co-workers even in blue collar jobs tell me they're this or that, but I talk to these guys normally and treat them like the adults they are. Come to find out some way or another; they're depressed, lonely, abused, lethargic, purposeless, listless, defeated, or otherwise have physical conditions such as low testosterone or chemical imbalances (dopamine, serotonin, cortisol, vasopressin, etc).

Murata and Momo, from my perspective, clearly have romantic feelings for each other. They're just not yet or not now at a stage where it manifests in all the usual ways. You could say they're treating each other as if they're a few years in already and some of it has boiled down to habitual company, but the excitement is obviously still there. Still, that's not going to last a long time nor remain exclusive if that's all it ever is. Boredom sets in quickly - whereas love, familiarity, shared burdens, and discipline carry you the rest of the way. Now, my relationships haven't exactly gone that way... but sometimes too much emotion is the problem.

Oh man, Japchae is the best if you like glass noodles, I made some just last week, highly recommended and pretty easy to make at home.

It's actually a pretty normal FWB relationship. A lot of manga portray FWB's as just these casual sex partners that you ONLY meet up with for sex. Or people who actually want to date, but are afraid to so they just bang each other and each pretend they don't want more, (like Pure 0.01 mm https://mangadex.org/title/75fd29f7-e5d7-4384-a4dd-42e644eaab08/pure-0-01-mm)But in reality a lot of people in that type of relationship are actual friends, it's not just a coy term for a semi-monogamous non-romantic sexual relationship. And friends do hang out and do all kinds of stuff together, it's just FWB's ALSO have sex on top of all that. But again, those types of FWB's aren't seen in manga often, which is why I like this one so much.

It's pretty authentic to a lot of that type of relationship, but yeah, you can tell they are vibing with each other so hard lately that there might be something more romantic brewing eventually.
