it looks more like they don't have common sense like human, she has no problem kill off her servant because she can revive them so human life probably not that important either.I have a feeling the Demon King might not even be fully aware of the war going on. It's possibly just the scheming of her generals.
That is if the “Demon King” is actually responsible for any of the deaths committed by her subordinates. As no one in the human alliance was aware that she was a woman, she herself has never taken to the field. And according to one of her generals, the demons themselves do not understand human culture or values and merely pursue things for their own amusement. There is the very real possibility that this entire war is just their way of killing time and not actually any form of conquest and their ruler has no idea that it’s happening. This chapter didn't start off well, with the kind of distracting anatomically impossible fan service panel only manga can deliver, but as soon as we got the Demon King in a Gordian Takoyaki knot I decided to stick with the series. The story is still going with the misunderstood war criminal angle, but I already have rock bottom expectations for most Japanese media when it comes to that subject. The character designs are also wonderful and creative even if the writing is just OK.
Would not be surprised if it goes this direction. I was expecting an "Emperor Hirohito innocent" type plot, as hinted at in my previous comment. That is if the “Demon King” is actually responsible for any of the deaths committed by her subordinates. And seeing as she has power over life and death so strong that someone who can see the flow of magic can’t even observe it being used, what’s the bet that the Demon King can just go and resurrect entire nations once she’s been wooed sufficiently?
I like the character designs but their issue is that they have no thematic consistency. Like why do the four demon king subordinates have such wildly different outfits as if they are in entirely different stories? Or why is Helen not at all matching with any of the other maidservants? Feels more like the author just wanted to draw some various girls and then loosely tried to tie them together somehow. Giant tentacle knot tho is pretty greatThis chapter didn't start off well, with the kind of distracting anatomically impossible fan service panel only manga can deliver, but as soon as we got the Demon King in a Gordian Takoyaki knot I decided to stick with the series.
