It's also possible that, given her complete and total control over death (all but stating that Lapience wouldn't suffer any side effects from being dead a week), as well as her general ignorance of the world, that she thinks the war is just a game with no real stakes and doesn't understand why everyone's afraid of her (if she even understands that people are afraid of her).
