sorry if i am mistaken but did the author point out the fact a "human" bleeding after having being cut, like a prof of her not being human ?
Trowing a adult 20m+ is clearly abnormal but bleeding is the most normal thing after being cut lol

Also the abnormal thing is more the human that go where they should not, at the very least show us very VERY strong relation, that would push the character would go in fucking hell to try to save the other
the MC and his lover is ok (i kinda understand he would go back again at the very least to show """he's worth""" the love she did give him, and desperation, shock and all the good thing that come with a decapitated head), the the friend we know nothing but they are friend, and i don't know many people that would go check first, and even more think this is the best option, before going where the phone work and call the fucking police
