I think it might be the kind of strawberry you eat. The small ones usually are sweeter. The ones I get from shops are usually sour, but the ones I did a pick your own here in Cali was sweet. The small Japanese ones tend to be sweet too. The 'giant'/jumbo ones here in Cali are flavorless.Strawberries always tastes sour to me... Unless a crazy amount of sugar is added to it so I am pretty much eating sugar and not the strawberry.
As it is good but mayonnaise is kinda overrated. people in manga acts like it was the holy grail when in real life it is kinda "meh" reaction.Speaking of things that fail for no reason, this isekai cooking manga still hasn't made the Holy Condiment: MAYONNAISE!
Strawbearrycake for everyone!
Baseline cake isn't that labour intensive. Mix dough, bake, cut, whip cream, add fillings, cover up in cream, decorate.
It takes time, but compared to many sweets, where if you mess a random thing or jupiter is in ascendancy compared to saturn so that one step fails completely for no reason, cream cake is simple.

I've always found it amusing how many anime characters love mayonnaise, while in the US or Eastern Europe it's often considered a symbol of bad cuisine. As it is good but mayonnaise is kinda overrated. people in manga acts like it was the holy grail when in real life it is kinda "meh" reaction.

Yeah, mayo is good, but is just a condiment. If you don't spice it up and it's just egg+oil+mustard+vinegar it's pretty meh.I've always found it amusing how many anime characters love mayonnaise, while in the US or Eastern Europe it's often considered a symbol of bad cuisine.

Well, I don't know why the US has such a mocking attitude towards mayonnaise, but in the former USSR it is notorious for people with primitive tastes to abuse it to absurd levels, and therefore a love of mayonnaise is considered a sign of poor culinary skills or taste. At the same time, mayonnaise-based sauces like Heinz are very popular because they can expand the flavor of simple foods that you can prepare without the skills or time for a good dinner.Yeah, mayo is good, but is just a condiment. But it's part of the Isekai Cooking Trinity
Soy, Mayo and UMAMI.
Never heard of mayo being called bad cuisine. Lazy maybe or unhealthy.
It's actually refreshing that people of this world can actually cook and it's only pretty much the future food that amazes them. I tire especially of the "we've veen making bread for 150~ odd years, step aside people who invented bread, let me show you how its done"
Stop telling your father how to fuck you rice-goblins!
Aaa that is what you mean. It definitely was a thing here too a decade or so ago and I can clearly remember early yt having e-e folk that made fun of it too.abuse it to absurd levels, and therefore a love of mayonnaise is considered a sign of poor culinary skills or taste.
Did the US/West also go through this phase at one time?Aaa that is what you mean. It definitely was a thing here too a decade or so ago and I can clearly remember early yt having e-e folk that made fun of it too.
Ask a murrican or a southener.Did the US/West also go through this phase at one time?
