It has been at least 4 years since I last read the web novel but I'm pretty sure there wasn't any of this advanced technology stuffs, is the light novel going in a weird direction and the manga is following the light novel?
there was, but this whole section was added because the base was tiny in the wn and the only thing there was the bomb, and she promptly ate it then

The problem the manga has is it skips the other classmate stuff, this means storywise it feels like we are jumping around and meeting people that feels like we should have already met and know how they function. I'm also close to dropping and just reading the LN cause I constantly feel lost since like the start of her arachne form.

this (ln + manga) should have just ended when she beat that one dragon, or at latest when she beat her momma

I believe we never saw this in the anime. Did they really just chuck out this whole thing to make space for the "other perspectives" of other classmates?
...the anime ends when they begin the road trip with the vampire baby, no? This is several years into that at this point, just looking at vampy's size.

This was not in the WN, mzybe the LN I dont know, but in WN after she evolved the first time she took care of the base herself during the demon king chasing her. Then the dragon god guy shows up after everything is done and then agreement with the demon king

The UFO wasnt there, nor potimias robot with is magic sealing attacking the vampire, it was just a normal robot. All these happened way way later in the end of the WN part 1.
when demon king fights potimias, then after he looses he runs away from the planet on tge UFO

All these changes just makes the story dumber and more ridicilous

Because the anime simply hasn't yet reached this far. Basic stuff.

I would disagree, only because some of the scenes of the storyline
where the Demon King's group is functioning like a weird little family in the Demon Kingdom, and Sophia has embraced the role of being Shiro's kid sister.
are my favorite parts of the whole story. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of them, and I think it suffers by being bound to continuity set in stone by the the previous flash-forwards to the confrontation with the Hero's party.

Could you put all of this in spoilers ? XD

And the story told in the Light Novel is better done :

In the Web Novel, White evolved and became too strong for Ariel to handle herself, so she didn't have a choice to cooperate with her (making their relationship really weird). In the Light Novel, she doesn't evolve further after becoming an Arachne for a while. White knows she's weaker than Ariel, so she can't beat her. But Ariel doesn't know how she survived her attack during the war, so they choose to make a truce. They let their relationship grows further during the years of travel (Ariel, thanks to Dustin, discovering how she survived in the meantime), while still being ennemies in some think like a cold war. In the end, White further evolves and gains her last form and is somehow forced to trust Ariel (making the evolution of their relationship much better).

Man, the constant swapping between MC and those irrel classmates was so annoying. It's set up in such a way that I think they were going for a buildup to the big moment when they meet again, but even that was forgettable. Such wasted potential :pout:

The constant shift has a goal : building a story, adding new characters, create a world and adding mysteries. All things that can't really exist when the MC is in the labyrinth.

I will say, it is kind of nice that the adaptions are unique enough that people can pick an choose which version of the story they prefer.

Everything I said happens same time, so it really isnt a spoiler. Only future events I put in spoiler.

Uhm, the real biggest reason why demon king and shiro saw eye to eye was because of body in charge merging with the demon king. Demon kings personality gained closer to shiro and she understood shiro better. This is the same in WN and manga so I assume same for LN. Ariel was never one for giving up simply cause other side was stronger

Only reason why Demon king was fighting shiro was because shiro attacked her foundation first, even if it was initially not shiros intention.

I dont see any gains with the story changes, it only makes things look forced and ridicilous. This is one of the big problems, editors often force authors to change the story so itll be different from the WN for purpose of sales

I think they made a translation mistake on the "black business" part on page 14. It probably meant black companies:

While specifics may vary from workplace to workplace and company to company, a typical practice at a black company is to hire a large number of young employees and then force them to work large amounts of overtime without overtime pay. Conditions are poor, and workers are subjected to verbal abuse and "power harassment" (bullying) by their superiors.[1] In order to make the employees stay, superiors of black companies would often threaten young employees with disrepute if they chose to quit.

Not quite, the anime follows the LN. It's pretty accurate to it.
First switches between basically past-spider and present-other viewuntil the reunion at the anime end after that it stays in the past, but still switches to other people
Not purely accurate since anime did skip over the beginning part of the "hero" side... author did mention that they want the LN, manga and anime fans to have a differing experience with the story(LN has the full start for everyone, manga only has Kumo side and anime is slightly fast forwarded from the LN).

Personally I feel like the anime tripped over itself trying to do the perspective shifts that the LN does... also doesn't help the fact that the "hero" side got gutted budget-wise.

To the people saying this wasn't in the WN... friendly reminder that in almost every single series that started as a WN, there are "massive" things that gets added/changed when it gets an LN and/or manga/anime. Overlord is one that has a LOT of changes from WN to LN.

WNs for the most part is essentially the rough draft, that's the essence of the series without an editor basically.

Why? Their part of the story isn't even relevant at this point of time...
this means storywise it feels like we are jumping around and meeting people that feels like we should have already met and know how they function.
Again the "Hero" side isn't relevant to the story yet, and even then the only thing being added by the "Hero" side is having a comparison point for Kumo's struggle and the effects of her actions in the future.
I'm also close to dropping and just reading the LN cause I constantly feel lost since like the start of her arachne form.
At least you mentioned the LN... if you said the anime is easier to digest than the mange I would've flipped a lid.

Like honestly, who do you think from the "Hero" side would matter in where we are now at the manga? Personally I would like a spin-off for the "Hero" side but I don't really need that now since they don't matter to the story yet.
