It feels kind of dumb to bring up how dumb of an idea it is to bring your local breeder Breed Stallion on this mission then dismiss it entirely with a non-answer. I know some writers really like the "look how stupid my story is" spotlight but I've never found it to lead to a better story. Might as well have said "Breed you're extremely weak willed and cowardly which makes me want to bully you." It's basically true anyway.

Their original plan seems to be somewhat logical in preparation for peace time (though, in the long run it will probably end up like this too), but the dragons breaking out back on chapter 1 change the situation.

Imagine if all your nation's tanks and jets somehow break out of their base, even a country led by geniuses will still be in crisis.

Sorry, but I'm the type of translator who doesn't keep Japanese honorifics and things in Japanese in my TLs. I know it's a controversial topic for some people, but I don't want to be lazy with my TLs and take the easy way out just because some stuff is hard to localize.

Yeah, but you expect them to phase them out, not just fire all their handlers. By the introduction of the tank to the battlefield, I'm pretty sure militaries around the world would've had horse handlers and vets for the horses that might remain. The doofuses here are more like expecting soldiers to take care of their tanks and jets after getting rid of all engineers and maintenance personnel.

That was what I was referring to as a non-answer as neither reasons are particularly good or serious. She would stand out if she didn't disguise herself and dressed as a maid. I assumed that one was meant as a joke. Other people are likely also familiar with their daily life and better suited to saboteur work. Breed strikes me as a heads down style worker so I don't think it's likely he would actually be particularly familiar, or even remember it, with the soldiers daily life unless it was related to dragons. Breed also has like no composure and is prone to panicking so even if both reasons were good for bringing someone else along, it would still be detrimental for that person to be Breed.

Yeah maybe it's fine and it's just my prejudice from web novels speaking. I'm very used to stories doing something that seems very stupid having no deeper thought behind. It's also possible that while Breed is a simple character to us as readers, he's still not particularly well understood by the other characters.
