I can't lie it's a weird choice to want the fanservice of her being functionally a sex slave without the sex. The way it's shoe horned in I feel like either audience reception in Japan or an editor has a hand in it. Not to discount that it could also be just a poor choice from the author anyway.

I see it as an attempt to show Marco as more cunning than his idiotic first impression. Most would think he just wants a sex slave when hes using her to gain power, making her look the part is nessacary to the illusion.

I may be giving too much credit to the writer though. Marco going from team rocket villian to future menace is going to be hard to pull off.

That type is honor before reason to a fault, taking responsibility for your fuckups no matter the cost. Plus where would she even go? She has no certainty she'd be accepted anywhere else after being a deserter from an invading force unlike the reader.

As clumsy as it is, it gives readers a heads-up about the level of 'fanservice' so that they don't have to wonder whether to keep reading or drop it. I guess what this means for her is that assorted forms of abuse, obedience, humiliation, punishment, molestation and bondage are fair game, but having her before MC is verboten.
Also, as far as manga is concerned, getting raped is shameful, but not getting raped despite resolving yourself to it - even more so. As if your tormentor didn't even consider you a woman.
