Ignoring the Trap, What is wrong with the Logic Faction? Sending only a single recruiter. That's hardly logical.

They didn't, you missed the whole conversation between factions.
They all sent multiple recruiters and Kunon gave an ambiguously positive answer to each of the girls.
Only Cassis got a flat-out unambiguously negative answer because... Kunon the Sorcerer can see through... but others from the same faction got the expected answer.

Technically, he never affirmed that he was joining any of the factions. He told the first girl that he was more interested in her and that's why he'd join not that he actually was. The second girl he told he that her question was trivial and that her desire is his command. Both seem like agreements to join but are also ambiguous enough to cast doubt.

That maid really did a number on his ability to clearly communicate with women, but he was crystal clear with the trap. A little surprised MC didn't say to their face they weren't into dudes.

I kind of agree, but at the same time, I wonder how much of it was intentional.
Giving an ambiguous answer taken as positive to the girls in order to meet two objectives: cultivating his "gentleman" persona and sending them away quickly so he can resume his experiment.
Instead of a case of miscommunication, this seems like a rather efficient way of sending them off without hurting their feelings (on the spot at least).

With Cassis, he just couldn't be bothered because he doesn't see the point of being a gentleman to another man.

No i don't think he'll join any in this chapter he pulled a "politician" they asked him "Will you join our faction ?" and he basically answered "I'm positive about your faction" which can mean anything.

Given how he says to the wind magician that Cass was a dude he knew it was a man dressing like a girl, so is not like he was just "seeing" the male below or something, he just isn't into traps.

For him joining all groups, I think there was no rule about doing that, it was just common sense that students couldn't do it, a unwritten law.

I actually quite like what the author does with Kunon and Cassis in the novel. In the novel he acts that way because he thinks Cassis is a guy but then he learns that Cassis actually has the soul of a woman and so he treats her much better and acknowledges Cassis as being a girl while apologizing for what he did. It’s a really nice moment from the author where they have Kunon accept an transwoman for who she is rather than what Kunon thinks she is and is being trans affirming towards her

But that ignores the fact that he's a known lady hunter, and regardless of how beautiful he might be, some people aren't into it. Not everyone can be Hideyoshi, and that's fine.

I like to think that, that trap think he can convince Kunon singlehandedly since he might the "cutest" Logic faction member (according to him or/maybe the leaders) unlike other two faction that use the rumor totally by utilizing quantity over quality
