Seriously it’s just been defense, siege, and fight after fight for like ever. It feels like the author is more afraid of writing a plot beyond just fights.

hmm just guessing from the story so far, I am guessing that the apostles were originally some kind of weapons program that has somewhat taken over or gain personal power in the church.

So they developed a black magic counterpart in order to control them. The fact that they needed to mind control one in the beginning means that there isn't full control of them. The apostle girl in a way is here to take watch over the black magic group and since they got wiped out, its in their favour.

oh this was kinda different from the webnovel since in the webnovel ai the apostle control that werewolf to masacre the group before kurono manage to defeat the experiment squad which make him late in arriving that end up making everyone except for the sniper bro killed........

Nope. In the web novel Ai fought the MC, lily and Fiona just like in the manga. It was another apostle called Misa that controlled the werewolf and massacred the remaining villagers and adventurers.

That whole continent is doomed. The enemy keeps getting reinforcements, yet no ally gives a shit about Kurono's detached force that was buying valuable time for the demon side's retreat. Kurono would be better off looking for a ship and supplies to find a third continent or some island far away in the middle of nowhere, with his friends.
