@Liquidxlax I was talking about being the replacement for rice...but, yeah potatoes beat rice in term of nutrition. I saw sometime ago that there's a kind of rice that being processed in a way for it to not lose the nutrition in japan, can't remember the name tho.

@Kiriha Wild rice is good as well as other less processed rices, but unlike white rice I find it is easy to get sick of them and they don't feel as tender as white rice. I honestly don't know how you could bleach and remove a bunch of other unwanted things without destroying a fair bit of the nutrition. Be nice if they could just grow it such that is is closer to the desired product.

@Sancturil I think he only traded the memories that shaped who he was. Like the ways he lived his past, the decisions he made, his interactions with other people, all that kinda stuff.

At least in the WN's chapter, it was immediately explained that he still retained memories of basic information, such as the world he lived in, the things in it and all that. I think if you just take away all memories of interacting with other people, that should still leave out plenty of memories of other things, like eating rice alone, lul. I forgot if it was explained in the manga, but in the WN Melfina explained his circumstances. Iirc, he died due to a mistake from another god (Melfina is a young god, she used to be a subordinate angel until she gained enough merits to rank up as another god due to her diligence). That god shoved him to Melfina to be taken care of, cause she was in charge of reincarnation. Then the moment MC laid his eyes on Melfina, she claimed that he said that he fell in love with her at first sight and begged all day to be contracted with him or whatever. So yeah, he was isekai'd due to the gods' shenanigans, while the heroes were summoned by Melfina's priestess.

Now the real question that comes to mind is why didn't the hero-dude instantly realise from this that MC is another Japanese isekai like them? Maybe he was distracted. Or maybe it is just because whoever wrote this story tends to take cultural things for granted to the point where they wouldn't realise that natives of the fantasy world wouldn't know what omamori are.
