Just like that? I mean, Sunao and his crush confessed to each other and hooked up. The major dangling plot thread got resolved. What's left to do?

The best part of this manga was the vibes and fluff, I can tell the author tried with this ending but it wasn't enough.
Theres some thought provoking one liners from the characters but it really doesnt mean anything.
All im left with is this deserved better. I really loved a good portion of this story, the art is immaculate, the characters are cute.
But bruh eveything i love gets bisected with an axe

This series jumped the shark the moment we were shown the reasons why Lemon lied about her cheating.
I'm sorry did I say reasons? I mean the stupid, crazy, nonsense the author came up with.
It was idiotic, forced and narratively lazy.
Nothing after that felt quite right. The whole dynamic between Lemon and Sunao just felt off, a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.
And the reason was bloody obvious.
Lemon's emotional baggage made no sense. I could have understood her refusal to open up if Sunao had been in a relationship or if he was still bitter and angry at her.
But he wasn't!
He was understanding and forgiving, he actively reached out to her to mend their relationship. She could have told him everything, asked for forgiveness and Sunao would have given it.
Instead she kept quiet. There's no cathartic moment in which she reveals how she actually feels, how she's been haunted by regret over what she did and the loss of what could have been.
And I don't believe for a second she's actually happy.
Lemon gets no closure whatsoever. She doesn't move on from Sunao in a healthy way. She simply shuts down her own feelings in the space of a few panels because the plot demands it. And then we're told she's okay.
That is NOT how it works!
No Lemon I don't believe you're happy, I believe you're minutes away from cutting yourself.
And that's why I think this ending is shit.

TLDR: Lemon gets no closure, she is in denial of her own feelings and one tiny frustration away from inflicting self harm. So no, she's not happy.

Terrible ending.

Jibber jabber...
You vastly overestimate yourself.
I see no evidence of literacy or summation, just hubris and contempt. Your ad hominem arguments are self defeating examples of the Dunning Kruger effect.
Regarding your argument of character growth. It was non existent. Lemon remained as insecure as her middle school self. What little growth there was, was prompted by outside forces.
