I'ma have to disagree with MC on this. I dig the 90s/00s pop punk aesthetic
Well, in either case, it's not really about what MC likes but rather what he deems to be normative popular fashion among their peers, since his goal is to ensure she's not bullied. You or he may or may not like it, but if like 60+% of Japanese high school girls don't approve, she may very well be in trouble. Being a teenager sucks.

dude most of those outfits weren't even bad. the flannel and cuffed straight leg jeans look is a fundamentally sound fall look. the only questionable part is the graphic tee. the second look is the y2k avril lavigne throwback that's literally in style right now, except that the plaid slim trousers should be subbed out for the jeans from the first look or black skinny jeans. the third may not be hot, but it's honestly just an inoffensive "grocery store run" fit a lot of girls throw on so they at least don't look like they literally just rolled out of bed. literally the only truly bad look is the first one, and that could be mostly fixed with a totally different top, ditching the stripes outside the stockings, and completely ditching the beret (since they're better with more serious styles).

if he thinks this is disastrous, what the fuck is the mc's sense of style?
