I'm glad that resolved quickly. I thought in Japan parents can just force the marriage. I didn't think you'd get any say once they decided to do that.

I think it depends on the kids too.. like if ur the docile type then... I'm sorry for u but some kids accept them too like why not?.

Creeping out the dude so she can leverage him into collaborating to make up an "acceptable" story about how they just wouldn't work out together, which she knows he also wants because she realised he doesn't want to look weak in front of his mom, is both a genius move and also so incredibly in character for Makino.
Really hats off to the author, what a way to utilise her scumminess.
