I need to up my game with my pictures, I usually just do a pout or place sign with the occasional whisper/hush pose

Purikura would be fun in a group of friends tho it'd be amusing if some 'starving/struggling artist' used it (assuming it's not too overpriced) as a quick way to do 'headshots' (Tho these days hopefully it wouldn't be hard to use a smartphone/basic digital camera or so then again i guess if you're doing headshots to begin with you'd wanna be more pro than trying to go viral/get famous online)
Just go in there, no one's gonna check.
Odd that it's a rule in the first place unless "this is a rule b/c something happened before" with some guys causing trouble or peeping in the next booth or so/pranking other customers

I hope they eventually do talk with the salaryman one day and become friends.

Dude is clearly struggling under the burden of his shitty out of date black company.

Someone give him some love already.

In a wholesome way I mean.

Not the first time i am made aware of it, sadly it is probably on the same floor as why women only train car exist in Japan

yeah although other than the booth itself i'd assume there'd be enough staff around if there is an issue but i guess being on staff isn't the same as some guard/bouncer, that said, given the boy band idol culture i would've expected there to also be some areas out there or if having a girl to vouch for them (i guess nanami doesn't expect other ppl to actually think he's a girl even if the POV MC doesn't know any better [I think i remember him saying "She has a husky voice" so Nanami isn't try to pass or anything lol])

That said , physical stickers aside you could probably just use a smartphone or just get some cheap disposable camera and hang out with friends that way

nooooo kameyama stop self-deprecating i think it's cool you know what's fashionable and i like appreciating them together with your observations
It's definitely a nanpa thing
this article (which cites its own sources) backs that up. really sucks that assholes take purikura spaces as an opportunity to do whatever they want

thats an interesting alternative, but i feel like part of the appeal of purikura is the sense of physically being in the booth. i guess disposable cameras would also have a special feeling from being considered vintage. smartphones seem a little too new for some reason.
when i went to taito station chain arcades, they seemed to always have a floor specifically for purikura machines. i only peeked from the stairwell entrances because i had no friends in japan to take pics with reasons to go in there. there were several kinds of machines from different companies. im assuming the only real difference between them is customization abilities. sometimes the purikura machines collaborate with popular pieces of media, so i would probably choose a machine based on that if it was a media i liked.
