Cute, surprisingly cheap but i wouldn't be surprised if even the items aimed at like 3 year old girls are better quality than some trinkets here

and i feel like other than actually being passionate, someone sounding 'enthusiastic' tone wise at work might come off as fake/sarcastic

he works as editor in some kind publishing company so most likely he knows a lot of stuff
other than working for a shoujo manga group specifically i think he mentioned chapter one that he got all his info from 'social media' (tho feels like that'd make you stumble across misinfo or 'wars' on which brands are superior/shit talking other brands lol)

so this is another one of those mangas i read on their official sites last spring. i fell off from reading because i forgot to and then the paywall lock kicked in. nice to see it got a translation on mangadex.
i can attest to the fact that this manga is an ad because this chapter did convince me to buy two sebon stars when i went to japan last summer. was just standing in the kid's snacks aisle of the supermarket and got my memory neurons activated. i wasn't familiar with sebon stars before this manga and seeing them in the flesh, but i bought them because why not. pretty toy necklace.
the amount of necklaces is truly nightmarish though. the official japanese sebon star website (https://www.kabaya.co.jp/catalog/sebonstar/) has pdf links at the bottom of the page to collector's charts of every series since 2014. also this year the company is celebrating sebon star's 45th anniversary with a throwback series (god i want some of the metallic ones). i believe to be a hardcore collector of these things you need to be blessed with good luck and good finances.

when i was little i was mildly obsessed with mcdonalds happy meals because i could always get new toys from them and my parents were otherwise reluctant to buy toys for financial reasons. also junk food tastes good. even when we went to japan to visit family, i wanted mcdonalds instead of more traditional japanese food. i noticed that the plastic of japanese happy meal toys was often shiny and felt smoother compared to the matte plastic of american ones. im not sure if these details were proof of quality though or if i even remember them right. in general i think japanese toy companies are pretty good at making cheap, decent quality trinkets. thats how they have gachapon machines in practically every urban area selling toys for 100 to 500 yen.

LOL it does look pretty cute, and better than spending like 30 bucks on a necklace (versus a full outfit), so it could look nice as a cute flashy accessory you could wear as a teenager without it coming off as too childish but even then i guess it'd prolly stick out in a bad way if some young teenager is wearing like a designer brand watch/necklace , or if ur a kid and just buying the candies i guess it'd be 'fun' to trade the diff accessories with a friend
