i've never gotten burned (well never stayed out long enough to tan or burn) but i suppose on hot days a parasol would be nice even if you might get weird stares for carrying an umbrella during brightness, versus some 'frilly lolita' design XD;

IDK how much the 'average' umbrella costs, i got one with a nice blue floral design at a cheap store tho i haven't rly used it since i'm in a part of the south that doesn't rain too often and i normally wouldn't go on a long walk during the rain anyways versus a sudden storm but i suppose it'd always be convenient to have

lol, gyarus aside, considering how much Asia values pale/lighter skin and probably not as many ppl into tanning on purpose, i wouldn't be surprised if even the 'cheap' sunscreen/uv protection is decent (i guess spf30-50 should be fine unless you stay out super long/sensitive skin?) And lol the bucket hat/sunglasses are cute but if ur going onto the train you wouldn't rly need any more coverage at that point? Unless you're right at the window or the sun beams brightly through those as well

i wonder how much the author gets paid for name dropping brands like milbon or if it's something they're allowed to mention without censoring but they still wouldn't get free samples/products from them or so (like that one fashion manga that mentions uniqlo like every other chapter XD)

Sucks that he lost it but in JP i can imagine they're more likely to hang onto it than a random person stealing it lol

As someone who hates summer and the sun, I totally get paying that much for an umbrella like that. It's common here to cover up your skin because "lighter skin = higher class' but I just do it for the sake of hating the heat.

It never hit me until now when you mention that. Most manga that does mention brands often censor it or use parody names like "Bennys" instead of "Dennys"

well this specific manga has been mentioning real products since the beginning but idk how much is popular outside of jp outside the sanrio/hello kitty reference (and the lipton milk tea lol) https://web-japan.org/kidsweb/archives/cool/00-10-12/bears.html the birthday bears are super cute, idk how many have still been collected or some online JP 2000s blog have all the names listed or so but yeah

altho it would be hilarious if they 'only' got approval for like a fashion brand but still had to use WcDonalds/generic names for restaurants (which also got its own thing recently too lol (statistically speaking there prolly IS a restaurant named benny's too [i remember seeing an ad while scrolling that was something similar to Canes (chicken place) with even a similar sounding name too that made me think it was an AI ad but apparently it exists as well])

I believe UV is blocked by glass. At least the most damaging ones.

well, right by the window on a super sunny day would be unpleasant esp if it's a packed train, but
understandable if you'd at least need sunglasses for sensitive eyes , but i'd imagine some coverage is important, like how you can buy those 'covers' for cars windshield but that's more heat damage than uv specific damage lol

Don't forget to drink water!
Moisturize and sunblock!
Parasol, hat, and sunglasses would help too and might make you look cute/cool like Hikaru-kun.
