I kinda hate when we get the characters on the style of ... the smart character is as smart as the author, ffs MC was shown a specially clever as he could rizz the goddess, and she didn't was that much of a b!tch for the MC to had so much hate for her and since last arc MC has shown plot needed stupidity, same here as he pretty much noticed she was a fake chosen one and didn't do sh!t with it while interacting with the saintess

you can think of the whole thing as him being completely ignorant of religion. And hasn't made the connection of "fake saint doesn't like the being worshipped because she knows once the fake part gets revealed, worshipping is gone". also, what's he supposed to do in that situation? showing reverence doesn't work, what? completely ignore her? he needs a hook before ignoring would affect a complete stranger.
