Hah. The comments here about the bromance reminds me of the constant "homo..." comments on niconico and them calling the protagonist the heroine of the story.

I've read the raws a couple chapters ahead and I can safely say that,

are straight and are into opposite sex.

Also, it's been quite a while, but when I skimmed a couple of web novel chapters before,

we won't be seeing much romance anyways. At least, most chapters were focused on learning/living his new environment and of course his drawing gig.

Honestly: The homoerotic subtext has been around for a while in this series, especially with the faint, ambiguous, and frankly sort of predatory vibes accompanying his relationship with his sensei. Looking even on mangadex, the artist has drawn BL before, so I'm pretty sure it's not just accidental that a good bit of the possible subtext feels delivered in earnest.

I'm not sure what to think. I'm happy for casual gay representation in shounen manga, though this feels like maybe not exactly the vibes I'd have hoped for.

...Separately, I do wonder whether all this subtext was in the original web novel or whether the artist is just trollishly going 'yay, this cast of characters is a sausage fest, I love those hue hue hue' XD
