Why would she want to move back to her old place? Apparently it had no balcony whatsoever. If you must live in an apartment, you won't go back to an apartment without a balcony if you have got used to one. Maybe if you live smack in the middle of concrete hell, it might not matter, but right now she sees a park and whatnot from the balcony, so it's superb.
