According to Iwami's twitter, she admits it's an "if scenario", because the manga starts in autumn, not in summer, so the timing is off.

So, yeah, it's just a promotional chapter to emphasize Nanase's neglect of Yuni in favor of her childhood friend, that Fuuko is very protective of Yuni and that Yuni feels lonely and seeks refuge in Fuuko's embrace.
