Dang, did not expect that.

can't wait to see Karen react to finding out. although idk if that man will act like an 'ideal father' via blackmail or seduction versus him also being mindbroken or so (even if she gets the bro on her side) if Saeko doesn't somehow cause the other family members to disappear or end their own lives XP
Saeko actually "seduced" the brother first, but not sexually. Her and Yui simply treated him genuinely so much better than his actual mother and sister that he started hanging out with them instead.
As of the latest chapter Karen's grandma has showed up and is a bitter old shrew with a keen enough eye to tell that Saeko's full of shit. Also, one of Saeko's henchman she fucked earlier nearly blew his cover. So yes the story is far from over despite Saeko's complete victory.
I prediction I have, considering the kind of story this is, is that Yui will probably end up in love with "brother" thinking it's fine since she thinks they're not blood related AND that will be another thing that goes wrong.

lol this kinda makes me wanna see a live adaptation or so but idk how well that’d translate tho I know some webtoons have gotten jdramas before

And yeah I guess it would be a generational thing

Well, this is the same author that did “you have no human rights” so if anything I def expect it to go off the rails if not at least one death/stabbing

Tho a happy ending where Yui and the bro run off and be a “real”‘family would be nice

My take: Saeko was traumatized by her experience with Yui's father and her obsession with Yui is because she reminds her of him, but in the form of a helpless child which gets her off. "If I can't love him, then I'll love the next best thing which is our child" type of situation but with a pinch of perversity. Of course this doesn't exclude the possibility that Saeko had some work done and Yui actually resembles her real face.
Maybe it's the case of her obsessively loving ger daughter and not wanting her to experience any hardship in life like she did. The issue is her life was so traumatic that she now views any hardship and something that needs to be removed.

For instance, I expected that Saeko would murder Karen’s mom outright inorder to usurp her family, but instead, after destroying her marriage, Saeko lured the other mom up to a high pedway to gouge the later into attacking her before stepping out of the way so Karen’s mom accidentally died from falling down a staircase.
I did call that Saeko had plastic surgery, and previously looked as plain as Yui.
What I really didn’t expect was that Saeko had worked for Karen’s father previously, before she got plastic surgery. She hadn’t been with a man before, and even though her face was ugly, her body was actually still pretty rocking which was enough for Karen’s father to seduce her even though he was already married. He fucked her while covering her face up with a pillow and came inside her; leading to Yui’s conception. So this has all been Saeko’s keikaku to get with the dad the whole time.
That sounds like a pretty boring plot. The story feels off with how dumb everyone else is to make Saeko seem smart. There's so many times when people could actually see through Saeko's plans and stop her. For example Karen might've hurt her image but could've easily taken down Takeda and Saeko with her.

That makes sense but I would expect the author to make her irredeemable in the end anyway, and since the live action adaptation pushes a gory-faced Saeko to be its promotional material, I gotta wonder if she is eventually also going to off someone in the manga

There's a live action one? Yikes/would've thought that'd be too edgy to be chosen (then again something that the Blood on the tracks author also got some kinda movie with them making a 'manga prequel'), but i suppose that'd be less cringey than 'you have no human rights'

Are train corpses bloody? I can totally imagine there being some 'accident' if not written off as a stage suicide considering that does happen and i've seen a small handful of manga where someone was pushed onto the tracks if not tripped/driven in a corner to run towards it like in "Brutal"

Edit:
lol longer vid on Yt than expected, Yui’s even less “ugly” but other than an overweight actress but I guess it’d be too much to use makeup to make her look bad versus the other students being flashy and feminine makeup lol

I didn't expect Kei Fubuki to be able to play an insane person so convincingly to be honest. Despite her affable mannerisms there is always a subtle hint of something dark in there, exactly like Saeko in the manga. Also, the scene from 1:20-2:35 felt so slimy lol.

lol yeah according to mydrama list she's had supporting roles so it's great she has a lead role this time (apparently another PEEP comic also got a live action tho also weirder than this series kinda too lol)
