Honestly that was my first assumption as well since she would technically be "searching" for him. I did compare both drawings and there aren't any similarities (from just a surface level comparison), but it makes sense if the story moves in that direction although it's not confirmed at all.

Yeah, basic storytelling leads me to believe the Princess is the Demon Queen (either through possession or a descent into madness), it just makes so much sense. I also bet she was the one responsible for transferring the MC's soul into that of Takeru who probably already passed on before the MC took over, furthermore the Snake Lady was most likely sent there (without her knowledge) as fodder/sacrifice to confirm who the Hero(MC) is.
