So the lady was probably the saint, which means Lotus isn't. Doesn't look like a summoned Japanese person, so probably a hero/soldier in the normal sense. The Saint Implement is sealed along with Fia.
Makes me think Fia was what that Saint wished for, after failing her mission. Or possibly dying after completing her mission.
The bigger question raised by this chapter is, What the heck is that Ball of Light Watching all this. Apparently was a witness to all this, but didn't do anything/get involved.
