@I_need_a_break I see where you're coming from but people in the real world have been killed for less. There are a lot of crazy mo fos out in this world and a lot of crazy mo fos in the world of this story as well. 😆

I also don't think this comes down to simple offense...Like, with the tutor guy: they were basically the catalyst for ending that guy's entire livelihood. It doesn't look like he'll ever get the opportunity to serve as a high society teacher again. With this couple, the wife is now headed toward divorce (she's trash and she'll most likely never remarry) and the husband is being asked to give up a property that costs a fortune. Lippe is leaving a loooooot of significant destruction in her wake and the things that are happening IMO are enough to establish an "enemies for life" relationship with these people. MAYBE not the husband of the child abuse lady since he dug his own grave, but those other two? I'm 100% sure they'd join a conspiracy against the Rustichiels if they got the chance. Luckily for Lippe, the people they've pissed off so far have been dumb and relatively powerless.

Look, I’m not excusing the guy, because he is clearly a bad father, but there are genuinely good parents who are kept in the dark by their partner’s bad behavior. This chapter seems to paint any parent who doesn’t know as in the wrong, and that really isn’t the case in real life. The good parents will live forever in agony and guilt if they ever find out what happened, and they don’t need outsiders pushing more unnecessary blame onto them.

I am not siding with the father but they finish with his wife, fine, but they want to tear down a complete family, what are they gonna do with their children after this? Are they gonna see after them or help them?
And a child her age acting this way is weird...

@Anra7777 That may be true, but this man's attitude and words clearly show he's not a good father. Maybe not necessarily bad, but definitely not good. If he was, he wouldn't have uttered "...my kids are fit and healthy despite being beaten like that" nor would he have thought to himself about how he wouldn't "...give up his family's wealth and business for his poor children." Sure, you need money to provide for your family, but the way he put that shows he doesn't truly care for his children as much as he makes it seem like he does. He may not have physically beat them, but he neglected them and that is almost as bad.

@gum_rummy Yeah, I gotta admit the "enemies for life" relationship isn't the best end for these situations (tho both the wife and that upstart earned it), but it never happened in their last life. We don't know enough about that timeline to assuredly assume they pissed off some big shot and got killed. I personally think it has something to do with Lippe's powers and the church, but then again, it's nothing but a theory. I guess we just gotta wait for the story to unfold (which I hope won't drag on too much), because your theory is very plausible too.

@Svelandria Yes, I did say he was a bad father. I’m not arguing with you about that. If you reread my comment, you’ll see I said that. What I’m saying is, the comic seems to paint anyone who doesn’t know about a partner’s abuse as in the wrong, which is a dangerous idea to have toward real life people. There are plenty of good parents who for one reason or another don’t know about their partner’s abuse. Those people don’t need the condemnation of outsiders.
