Anyone have a feeling that Lippes family was destroyed because in her past life she refused someone of higher status for marriage?? I mean, the more obvious would be that they were just getting her family out of the way for some reason? However, this chapter made it clear that in the great scheme of things... Her family wasn't really all that influential in terms of status and even if they had the commoners on their side it was mainly in minority still compared to the rest of the Empire? Actually, compared to her previous life they have more influence now and Lippe is a child than when she was fully grown in her past life. So, I could see it as a more personal attack rather than a "out of the way" attack.
