The author seems to think that a body full of horrific physical scarring can just disappear entirely after just a few days, in the space of a couple of chapters, and with no real explanation other than "because Doctor". The same is true of the protagonist's mental damage; so severe a physological trauma would take years to recover, if it ever did; but just a few chapters later she's well on her way to mending "because kindness".
I'm not sure if this is ignorance or just laziness; I suspect both.
Honestly. while I like the underlying premise of the story (a horribly and unjustly abused character having to start a new life), the way it unfolds is just terribly contrived and frankly amateurish. I'm probably dropping this.
