You don't see much court room scene done right so I'm hyped for it! As for the case, the only way those scumbag family can defend themselves is by saying that women is men's property so they can do as they wish and it's illegal for women to disobey men. Infuriating, I know, but it won't be too farfetched especially in this misogynistic pos country.

What's even sadder is that this scum thought still exists even in nowadays in some culture :(

Good luck everyone! I believe in you all!

Juro is already off to a great start by showing how impossible it would be for Ebony to have killed him. Good work 👏🏻

I’m curious why they keep accusing her of stabbing him when he clearly fell down a flight of stairs. A broken neck is very different from a stab wound. Hopefully they’ll give more details in the next chapter.

Thank you for translating this chapter.

I'm so nervous for her. I mean, I have a hunch that it will work out just because the story is about her but still this situation makes me nervous, you know?

@Alyseb630 It depends on whether the cause of death listed in the records is accurate or not; the Sedells could have had those records altered, or they could have dictated what's in the records in the first place. It makes sense for Juro to demonstrate that what the Sedells are alleging is highly improbable assuming that the records are either incomplete or untrustworthy. Then again, the Sedell lawyer will probably ignore that entirely and go the "We were wronged, how dare she" route as they have in the past.

Tl;dr they'll probably use it and its a weak excuse in front of a judge, thus making themselves looked like an idiot and FMC's innocence should be 100% guaranteed if they do use it.

@Paulthetic they must've known that their marriage is only officially acknowledged the day after the 'murder' incident. I'll assume that there's no law that hinders women rights.

The reason I assumed that is because in an earlier chapter, Raven states that there's no written law that said about a woman doesn't have the right to heir. Although it is stupid of me to do this, I decided to just assume women rights are hindered not because of the law, but because of the sickening and deeply rooted prejudice.

So to use that bullshit excuse in an official setting like this is... well, bullshit. I do agree with you that they'll probably use it. If they do, then FMC's innocence should be 100% guaranteed... should be.
