Why don't you just assassinate the whore baroness? I mean, it's not like that doesn't happen in that world. And it's not like it's impossible for it to succeed, seeing how the bitch handles her own servants. The king can't do shit when he can't figure out who killed her. Don't pretend like they have modern forensic capabilities.

@siikalahna Because the wife is always the first suspect in the murder of someone known to be a mistress, especially since they're political rivals? The Emperor is all-powerful and can order her execution of her and her family, just like last time?

Wait, so let me get this straight. The "villainess" is the one who is in a mutual relationship with the king that isn't accepted because of her low birth, and the "heroine" is the noble lady the king is forced into marrying against his will who summons the low status lover to social events in order to mock her for her low birth?

Consider me team Rosemond; fuck the bourgeoisie.

@Secuthar Did we read the same comic? How is it possible to get so much wrong, even if the translation is this bad.
She sent her an invitation out of courtesy, not to mock her, because she didn't want rumors spreading of her excluding her.
Not to mention the comic openly showing us how envious the mistress is of the queen, and desperately trying to sabotage her.

@Secuthar, as someone whose read the translated novel, you really don't want to be on Rosemond's side.

Rosemond doesn't actually love the emperor, she's using him to gain power. The emperor used to be abused by the former Queen for being the mistress's son. Rose basically used her kindness to him as a weapon.

Patrizia could care less about either of them. Even in the novel, she makes it clear that she doesn't want to get between them and just wants to carry on her duties. If she loses her crown, her family loses their lives. Rose even rigged the Queen selection to pick Rizi who had been trying to deliberately lose the selection. So really it's not her fault.

Not to mention the Queen can't ignore Rose, ignoring her would make her seem like jealous woman and someone who cares bout the other woman, when really in a way it's Rizi's way to extend an olive branch to her without being too obvious but Rose sees it as mockery.

I am still secretely praying that the Emperor and Queen dont end up in love. However I do like how the scheming is progressing. Also nice how strong and little shit she takes as lead. Even if grammar and translation could be better its still readable and I couldnt honestly ask for more considering some other translations ive seen.

"You are cordially invited to help host the party [that I know you've probably already set in motion the ruination of]"

It's not clear to me how this is supposed to turn into a romance, but it's not all that bad at the court intrigue side of things.

Self love is romance friend ;)

but on a real note it just a stereotypical dogmatic rule that comics made for a female audience have to have a couple
many new modern stories don't follow this rule completely but the stereotypical assumption remains. "Queen/Generation Queen link, The flower that bloomed by a cloud , you for a day"
these stories focus more on politics, but they are "for girls" so they end up in the romance tag. That my theory anyway

@blazing_boz:

Oh certainly. This story has shown the potential to hold itself up on court drama and time-travel angst alone. It might get a bit dark if that's all it did 'till the end, I guess, but, eh, so far so good.

But in the case of this particular manhwa—it has a romance tag, and various people have discussed how the plot will turn out (behind spoiler tags; I haven't read the details) based on the source material, so I believe that aspect is probably well-understood, and also there's the cover—I'm reasonably confident that this is turning romantic, somehow, at this point. Somehow.
