The novels by Yumemakura Baku of the same name, Kouya ni Kemono Doukokusu. There's a link for them in the description page.
Itoh (the mangaka) even turned himself, Baku, and his editor Watanabe into characters and inserted themselves in the story.

The monkey girl character had always been in this mangaka's works. The first manga of this mangaka that I read was the one shown in the credit page. And the latter three that I got to read, all featured the monkey girl character, albeit with different names and power.
