Agreed with everyone else that this is pure suffering. It feels like phos keeps killing themself to try to fix things even more now and both of the authority figures they've known have been suspicious at best.

I still can't get over how creepy the relationship between Aechmea and his "princess" is though...

gum_rummy same, when you think about it a lot of the explanations they giving to the gems and phos don't make a lot of sense, like what was said about the gems inferior to 5 on hardness, if their particles were that troublesome, why turn them into dust if most of it is just gonna disappear on the atmosphere anyway? Lock them away, with no sun they would literally deactivate and not be a hassle to you, they clearly know what Phosphophyllite is, so i doubt they wouldn't know the others gems hardnesses, and when they mowed(?) Antarcticite, if inferior gems are so easy to break why did he say "it took ten levels to get into a fine powder" implying that's a lot? if we are assuming this is still our normal solar system, the sun rays would hit the moon and antarctic would melt anyways, is probably happened on trip to the moon still, but if my memory serves my right, that was never said
if they could make cicada speak just to check on phos, why didn't they try it before even if they couldn't because of the gems, they have come in contact, -as in literally get to his face- with Adamant before?
And how come phos could literally be dissolved by a snail which means she didn't just become minuscules particles, SHE MELTED, passed thought a complete system of digestion that probably filtered her, was put back together in a shell, and had all of her memories intact? but "the gems are broken with such a fine powder, there's no way their connections will remember anything", BUT HOW DID PHOS DO IT THEN? SHE LITERALLY GOT ON THE MOST MICROSCOPICAL LEVEL SOMETHING CAN GET NATURALLY AND WITH THE ADDITION OF OTHER CHEMICALS EVEN, even tho phos is very acceptable to other chemicals, how couldn't that drastically affect her then?
A lot of what Aech and his affiliates says about their motives just doesn't add up, it makes sense, but it aso doesn't add up to why it's being done, couple that with his weird love for Cairn while not caring about any other other single gem that probably had her darkness as well, it just doesn't make sense.

They didn't give a shit about the gems back then, other than using them to guilt Sensei into doing his job, as far as we know. Even the thing where they could disappear forever would have been a calculated attempt at pissing him off, if anything.

'switch it' ??? i feel like phos will get sensei to pray and stuff, rejoice with the gems, and go to return to the moon all to find out aechmea has done something to all the gems/betray/evil stuff, could be crazy - phos rejoicing with the gems would be like the call before the storm, a glimpse of hapiness to then be destroyed - i am waffling
